We’ve had a lot of time on the coast recently. Weekend before last we went to Charleston to visit one of Todd’s co-workers and his fiance. They recently moved from Baltimore to the Charleston area, so we thought we’d help welcome them back to the South. 😉 Actually the guys worked out all the details of the trip. Patrick and Maureen wanted us to come, and bring Davis. After I asked Todd lots of times, “Are they really sure they want us and a toddler to come visit?!!” and they answered him with “Yes, of course!” we planned the getaway!
The weekend consisted of delicious meals, including homemade dinner and breakfast courtesy of Patrick, then takeout from Taco Mamacita, and lunch at Poe’s Tavern (both on Sullivan’s Island). It rained some, but while it was sunny we walked around the park and water in downtown Charleston, had lunch outside, and went out on Patrick’s boat! We also played Cards Against Humanity, walked on the Cooper River Bridge, and walked out to the beach on Sullivan’s Island. I love Charlotte, but I can’t count how many times I asked Todd if we could move to Charleston. I said this on Instagram, but we fall more in love with Charleston each time we visit. Extra thanks to Patrick and Maureen for hosting us!
Then…last Monday, the day after we got back from Charleston, two of my best friends and I randomly decided to go to the beach! With 5 kids (all under 4) and no husbands! It was crazy and chaotic, but very nice to get away and good to have extra girl time during naps and bedtimes. Plus, the kids had a lot of fun together, and we all enjoyed the sunshine and beach! Sarah has more stories and pictures in her post about our beach trip!
Really grateful for time with friends and family by the beach! And extra thankful to live within driving distance to some of my absolute favorite places.
