I saw this picture on Pinterest recently, and instantly appreciated it. (Polyvore is the original source). I think every woman, myself included, needs some basics in their closets. It is often very tempting to fill our shopping bags (or carts if you prefer online shopping), with trendy pieces. We all can fall victim to this. But this can lead to looking in your closet and thinking,”I have nothing to wear!”
I do not go shopping very often, but when I do, or when I shop online, I am enticed by inexpensive tops and jewelry. This is fine sometimes, but I rarely buy staple pieces that will go a long way in improving my outfits.
This clothing gallery has inspired me to get back to the basics. I have set a goal to fine-tune my wardrobe and keep only things that I actually wear, especially classics like these that will not soon go out of style. Hopefully I will have a post soon where I can model my clothes after these basics.

That’s a good idea 🙂 There’s another idea on Pinterest that I saw where whenever you wear pants/a shirt, you turn the hanger around. At the end of the year, you donate the clothing that didn’t have a turned hanger.
