Five on Friday

October 4, 2013

Thank you, Lord for weekends!  It’s been a good week, but I’m ready for Saturday….because….Todd and I have a  staycation planned to celebrate our 7th anniversary!!  We’re planning to enjoy the Queen City.  Thanks to Todd’s mom and sister for babysitting!

As always, thank you to April, Darci, Christina, and Natasha for hosting my fave blogging day!

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

ONE: We cleaned out our closet!  Yes, it should always look like this, but that’s just not real life.  Now that it’s cleaned out and organized, I am loving it.  I’m hoping to keep it close to this state.

TWO: Spinach and Kale Greek Yogurt Dip from Trader Joe’s.  I’ve seen people post about this, and I finally decided to try it!  We served it with bell pepper slices, carrots, pretzels and pita chips at our small group.  Everyone seemed to enjoy it.  I will buy this again!  Added bonus – it’s healthy.

THREE: This video is not what you typically think of when you think of cheerleading.  I cheered for 5 1/2 years – from 8th grade through the first part of college at UNC.  I had to show off this video.  These people are extremely talented!

FOUR: Sneak peak at our finished white and gray kitchen!  I’ll post more details next week.  We love it!!

I took these pictures at night, and the lighting is terrible!

FIVE: “Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander.” Oceans by Hillsong is one of my favorite songs.  Reminds me to continually put my trust in Jesus.  This song is incredibly comforting and a powerful description of God’s faithfulness.  It says:

and I will call upon your name, and keep my eyes above the waves.  When oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace.  For I am Yours, and You are mine.  Your grace abounds in deepest waters.  Your sovereign hand will be my guide.  Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me, You’ve never failed and You won’t start now.

One more thing!  Please check out my cousin’s blog from this week.  She posted about a recent beach trip, and the pictures of my niece and nephew are beyond cute!

Hi I love Hillsongs too, I was fortunate while travelling to spend 3 months as part of the congregation, & got to be one of 20,000 voices on the You Are My World album. My fave is Guardian. Have a great day x
