On Friday Todd took the day off work for a family day! We drove up to the NC mountains to visit Sky Top Orchard. The orchard is in Flat Rock, NC, below Asheville. The leaves hadn’t all changed yet, but the mountains are pretty and scenic any time!
Sky Top has a vast orchard – even though the harvest is almost over, there were plenty of apples. They also have apple cider and sweets, including apple cider donuts! Todd and I enjoyed one when we arrived, then bought some extra to bring home for my family. So delicious! Between those donuts, and some others I made, I’ve eaten more donuts this week than I have in the last combined 5 years – ha! Maybe I’m changing my ways.
The rest of the time, we walked, picked apples, visited the farm animals, and had a “picnic.” It was more like we fed Davis in the back of Todd’s car. 😉
We really enjoyed our trip! Now, what to make with all those apples?!
