Christmas 2013: Decorations

January 5, 2014

I am way way behind on blogging.  I’m going to blame the holidays.  That’s acceptable, right?  Speaking of holidays, I want to post about our Christmas, before it gets too far past December.  This post is pictures of Christmas decor around our house.  I’ll post another with pictures from our time with family, along with some holiday treats I baked!

I have a lot to catch up on.  Look for these posts coming in the next couple of weeks:

  • Our Christmas Holiday
  • Baby Food: 10-11 months
  • Davis’ 13 month stats and pictures
  • Recipe: BBQ Chicken Tacos (gluten free)
  • Wheat-Free meal ideas
  • Recipe: Granola (for yogurt parfaits, etc.; gluten free)
  • I turned 29 (almost a week ago)! My birthday & New Years resolutions

I also hope to get back to linking up with the Five on Friday crew!  I loved participating last Fall.

Anyway….here’s a look at how our house was decorated for Christmas!  Oh, AND our Christmas card!

Our kitchen table set for Christmas Eve dinner. Finally used our fine china and Kate Spade dessert plates!

Our dining room.  Todd made this wooden container, and now I use it all the time in that room!  For Christmas, I cut some cedar from outside, and incorporated some gold ornaments, picks, and white candles.

Our kitchen.  My mom found some great plaid towels for the stove at Marshalls!  I just filled one of my coffee table trays with leftover branches from our tree, and some ornaments.

Our den/family room.  Our boys wanted in on these pics. 🙂

Our foyer/entryway.  This Joshua 24:15 print is on the wall to the right of the front door.  This Christmas my parents and grandparents helped us get a nativity scene started, and this seemed like the perfect spot!  We started with only Mary, Joseph, and Jesus, but my grandparents set aside a couple other pieces from their collection for us for next year.  We added garland and lights to the stairs, along with wreaths and gold and plaid ribbon on the glass looking into Todd’s office.

Our hall bath: I just added a couple small touches in here: a wreath tea towel, a print with Isaiah 9:6, and some greenery and red pine combs to a small bowl.

Our living room.  This room is technically the formal living room, but it also acts as my office.  And it isn’t actually formal. We had a small tree decorated with white lights and gold ornaments, along with 2 small trees and a lantern, all with gold accents, on the coffee table.  Plus all of the presents from my parents and brother!

All of our Christmas decorations are down, except for this!  I adore Christmas card season.  There are a few missing cards from this picture, but I had to show it.  I love our refrigerator full of pictures of friends and family!

Disclaimer: it looks like we have the Duke basketball schedule on our fridge.  It’s only there because the Carolina basketball schedule is on the same magnet.

Can’t wait to decorate again next year! Thank you for reading.
