It’s been a while, but I’m happy to be linking up with April, Darci, Christina, and Natasha again for Five on Friday! I took a break over the holidays, but it’s nice to be back to blogging. I hope you enjoy my very random list of five things! Happy Weekend, ladies.
ONE: A few weeks before Christmas, Davis and I received the sweetest gift from FRANCE! My best friend lives there, so we really only see each other once or twice a year when she comes home to visit her family. She has a 3 (getting close to 4) year old daughter, and a son who was born just days after Davis. We’ve already decided they’ll be transatlantic best friends. Anyway, mine and Davis’ birthdays are both in December, and Casey sent us both gifts! Seriously, so thoughtful. She sent Davis a book about animals, written in French. He has a book obsession, and of course I love that it’s written in French. And for me, the coveted Zara blanket plaid scarf! I pinned it a while ago, and blogged about it, which is how she knew I’d like it. She bought it from a Zara in France. It has become a huge trend this winter, with people hunting for it and buying it off eBay, etc. I wear it all the time. Casey is just very special to me! I love everything about her (besides the thousands of miles away part).
TWO: I’m trying this lemon water plan. I saw it on Pinterest, and Natalie blogged about it. I’ve been drinking warm lemon water – before having anything else! – each morning this week. I’m enjoying it so far. I’m not expecting any grand results, but it is nice to start the day feeling hydrated! Thinking that if I display my lemons like this it will help with my motivation.
Claims to do these things: (yes please!!)
THREE: On the opposite end of the drink spectrum, I need to make this Skinny Ginger Mule soon. I never make cocktails at home, but I’d like to learn some new recipes. Plus this sounds delicious to me!
FOUR: “I Will Fight.” Need some affirmation at the start of this new year? Please watch this video! Our church aired it this past weekend, and it is awesome and gives me chills. If the video below doesn’t work, try this link or this one.

FIVE: So random, but I had to add this. I feel kind of like I’m going back to middle school. On Monday I have an orthodontist appointment to be fitted for braces. Ok, not the real middle school braces with color-coordinated rubber bands. I’m getting Invisalign. I know I’m not going to enjoy wearing things on my teeth 24/7, but I am so stinking excited!
Thank you all for reading!

I haven’t heard of the lemon water thing but it seems simple enough! -ps.. Hendricks Gin is my absolute favorite. Even at our wedding I had my own bottle with ‘Bride’ written on it, I will definitely be using that mule recipe! Happy Weekend! (That scarf is absolutely fabulous. I want.)

Thank you for the gin tip, Jessi! I’ve only had it a handful of times. Excited to try!

I love that scarf! I can’t believe it’s that hard to find! I’ve been drinking lemon in warm water all week too and I really can tell a difference!

Ally, glad you’re seeing a difference with the lemon water! I have some girlfriends trying it as well. I’m enjoying it so far! I know, the scarf popularity is nuts!
