Five on Friday

February 7, 2014

Thank the good Lord it’s Friday!!!  We are so ready for a generally relaxing weekend at home.  We’ve got a lot to get done around the house, but we also have fun plans to see friends we haven’t seen in a while!  Can’t wait!

Anyway, on to my very random 5!  Thanks as always to April, Darci, Christina and Natasha for hosting.

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

ONE: I had a “Pinterest told me to” recently.  I was trying to figure out what to wear to church, so I looked at my pins and decided to go with a winter white look.  White jeans in January?!  It felt a little taboo, but the change was nice! The Pinterest inspiration is first, and my version is below.  Please excuse the poor-quality selflies and the hairspray, etc.  We had just cleaned our bathroom, but you know how it is – you get ready one time and it’s a mess again!

TWO: My new favorite nail polish: Essie Ballet Slippers.  I know this has been around for a while, but I just bought it and really like it.  A great mix of pale pink, neutral, and white.  I found mine at Target, but it’s also available at Nordstrom and probably Ulta.

THREE: Valentine’s Day is in a week!  Todd and I don’t usually do gifts, but we do want to get something for Davis.  I’m also working on a post with food and drink ideas for having a date night at home!  You know, for all the parents who’d rather not find a babysitter.  Or if you’d like to skip the crowded restaurants!

FOUR: I’m addicted to wedge salads.  And I really don’t even like bacon!  We’ve been eating a chopped version, but I want to make these mini ones soon!

FIVE: Amen. Encouragement for you this weekend.

Stopping by from the link-up to say hello! Ballet Slippers is the first Essie polish I ever tried and I will always love it! Two others that are similar and I also love are: East Hampton Cottage and Potato Fields. Potato Fields is my default color. It is a bit more beige but in a good way. Have a wonderful weekend!
