This week was a doozy, without a doubt. I sure am glad that it’s Friday, and what’s even better is that I feel like I can start counting down the days to Memorial Day weekend at the beach! Summer is just the best!
Major congratulations to Christina and her husband on the birth of their baby girl! I’m sure we’re all waiting to see when April will have her little one, too! Extra thanks to those girls and Natasha and Darci for hosting the link-up.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you mamas and soon to be mamas out there!! And of course Happy Mother’s Day to the best one of all – my mom! I truly hit the jackpot with her! Couldn’t be more grateful to have such a wonderful, loving, giving, selfless, beautiful inside and out mom and best friend! Looking forward to some girl time with her this weekend!!
ONE: Not much explanation is needed for this. How gorgeous are these peonies?! And they’re from my parents’ yard! Hoping I can one day have a green thumb like my mom! She gave these to me yesterday and said, “they just make you feel better.” So true.
TWO: I am not a germophobe, but you know something that will make a woman, especially a momma, feel like one? The stomach bug. Ugh, disgusting. Todd and I were struck with it this week, but thankfully Davis was able to stay at my parents’ house and didn’t get sick. So before Davis came home I scrubbed and disinfected and hoped and prayed that he wouldn’t encounter the germs!
THREE: Loving these light wash cut-off boyfriend shorts from Old Navy. Denim boyfriend shorts are my favorite – they aren’t tight or too formal, and they’re very comfortable. I like them with or without a belt, and they can be dressed up or down. These have a 3.5″ inseam, which is a length I prefer. I tried to take a picture of me wearing them, and this is the best I got. I need some help in the outfit selfie department! (They run big, buy a size or two down).
FOUR: Look what Daddy brought home for Davis yesterday?! T-ball, at 1 1/2, ha! Davis only sort of understands, but he loves it regardless! I’m sure he’ll love playing with it this summer. And I’m going to do my best to keep it outside or in the play room, away from everything breakable. 😉 Our wild and crazy little guy with a bat in his hand is a scary thought! If you follow me on Instagram, you saw he had just as much fun playing with the box as he did the toy!
FIVE: This quote is fitting for Mother’s Day. I rarely feel worthy to be a mother, but Davis is the greatest blessing to Todd and I. This prayer certainly applies to striving to be a better mom. I always want to be better than I was yesterday, but I cannot do it alone. Thankful, so incredibly thankful, that I can always lean on God for help.
Enjoy your weekend, ladies! And moms, I hope you all get a little extra pampering, rest, and relaxation this weekend! And a few more hugs and kisses from your babies. 🙂 Thank you for reading!
