The holiday weekend is HERE! I have been eagerly anticipating these next few days for weeks. I hope you all have fun things planned! I’m off to enjoy Memorial Day weekend with my family, in my favorite place. 🙂
Side note….Happy (one day late) anniversary to my parents!! 32 years married is incredible! Love them so much!
Thank you as always to April and Christina – both of whom have the most adorable newborn baby girls (!!), Natasha, and Darci for hosting! This link up continues to be one of my favorite things about blogging, and I enjoy kicking Fridays off in this way!!
ONE: Davis is finally able to wear his whale shirt from Honey Bee Tees! It’s a size 2T, so I’ve been waiting for this summer for it to fit him. Side note: he’s not quite 18 months, and he can wear some 2T clothes. I can hardly keep up with the growth spurts!!
He has the whale shirt – it doesn’t look like that is still in the shop, but check out all of the other cute t-shirt options here. Seriously love the designs! And if you don’t follow Darby, the owner, on Instagram, you should.
TWO: Memorial Day weekend is a great kickoff to Summer, and I am pumped. Looking forward to beach trips, sun tans, and so much more. I blogged about some of my summer inspiration yesterday. I’m planning to look back to that and my Summer Inspiration board on Pinterest when I need some fresh ideas.
THREE: I just need to brag on my hubby for a minute, because he is one thoughtful man. These pom pom shorts came in the mail this week as a late Mother’s Day gift (they’re shipped from another country, so it took a long time). Todd already thoroughly spoiled me for Mother’s Day, but turns out there was another gift! How fun are these? He pays attention. 😉 They’re perfect for a beach cover up or to wear to bed. Super cute and very sweet of him!
FOUR: Toddler food. Davis has been picky lately. Or maybe it’s not as much picky as it is strong-willed. Either way, meal times are NOT always fun. But I found a new recipe that I think will work for us! It’s like a brown rice and veggie casserole, without any “junk” added! He tasted it and enjoyed it – success. I found the original recipe through Pinterest, and made a few changes:
1. Chopped up the tomato and added it in the mix instead of laying it on top
2. Mixed in all the cheese instead of adding it to the top
3. Added 1 cup chopped (very small) spinach when I mixed it all together
4. I added 1/2 cup GF flour to the mix to help bind it
5. Cooked this in a muffin tin to have individual servings
FIVE: This. Even as a SAHM, it’s amazing how much a shower, fixed hair, makeup, and a decent outfit can change my day! Trying to make it more of a habit. Oh, and trying to just improve in general each day!
Thank you for reading! I hope each of you enjoy your holiday weekend!

Hi Lindsay! Your son is so so so cute! I love his whale shirt! That quote for number five is so true. My friend has a sign in her powder room that says, “Put on a little lipstick. You’ll be fine.” Sometimes just going through the motions makes such a big difference in your mood. I hope you have a fabulous Memorial Day weekend!
