The Five on Friday link-up is officially back, and I am so excited! Thank you to April, Darci, Natasha, and Christina for hosting this. These fun posts make the weekend seem to come more quickly!
Here are my random five. Cheers to the weekend, girls!
ONE: This picture alone is tempting me to host a dinner, girls night, or Halloween party at my house. Simply because I’d love to serve chilled wine or beer out of a pumpkin ice bucket. Might have to try this for the adults while the kids are trick-or-treating!
TWO: My friends Ashley, Sarah, and I went out for a much needed girls night this week. Hallelujah! Sushi, drinks, talking, venting, and basically lots of talking with some of my absolute favorite people. I truly don’t think you can be a happy mom without close friends who are also moms. These two, along with several other girlfriends and fellow moms who I love, make motherhood better! So grateful for this night out. Please excuse the blurry pic, but I love it. We are just not selfie pros!!
THREE: We are going to New York soon, and planning this trip is a tad overwhelming. (Insert bug-eyed, shocked emoji here). Todd and I have gotten some great suggestions from friends and blog followers for things to do and where to eat, but it is still so hard to decide! If you’ve been to NYC recently, and have any absolute, can’t-miss it, must-dos, please feel free to comment!! Don’t even get me started on trying to figure out what to pack! Ha!
FOUR: I’m adding Seriously Delish to my Christmas/birthday wish list. I love How Sweet Eats blog, and I glanced through her cookbook at Barnes and Noble the other day. It is so cute, she is hilarious, the pictures are wonderful, and the recipes look amazing. Though I don’t follow too many recipes in general, I believe you can never have too many cookbooks, or extra inspiration!
FIVE: I’ve been thinking about this quote regularly. It is motivating to me, so I wanted to share. Trying to focus more on my faith, the things and activities that are most important to me, and what makes our family happy and “work” is important and keeps me on track. It is very easy to complain and feel bogged down and dread the sometimes very long days. But having this perspective (along with prayer, and Davis sleeping later than 6 these days – praise the good Lord!) has really been inspiring me to wake up earlier and embrace my roles in life.
In case you missed it yesterday, I posted about Fall fashion with pops of color, like a bold clutch!
Alright, I’m off to finish 250 cake pops for a wedding tomorrow!! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend with friends and family! Happy October and happy Friday!
