It’s been a couple weeks since I have done a Fall Fashion post, and I’ve missed it! Doing these “fashion” posts are a good excuse for me to shop my closet and come up with new to me, yet very easy outfits. I need to look pulled together, but be comfortable in my everyday wear.
This Fall Fashion post is inspired by the beautiful looks I’ve seen on Pinterest (collage below – the bottom left is my personal favorite). I noticed they all had on similar looks: a longer cardigan, a t-shirt, and jeans with a belt. That look fit perfectly into my personal style, so I wanted to come up with a few outfits with the same look. I’m definitely adding a longer cardigan, plus a patterned cardigan with waterfall lapel to my Christmas wish list!

I think this look is the perfect time to wear an older, loose, comfy tee, or even raid your husband’s closet for a loose-fitting t-shirt! I am a big fan of men’s white v-neck undershirts in size small, so I will certainly be pairing one of those under a cardigan this Fall and Winter. Nobody would know, right? The shirt I have on in this picture is really too fitted. Next time I will go for the looser tee look. The second look below has a looser t-shirt.
This is the ideal kind of Fall layering. The sweater could come off if it is hot, but you could add a scarf or a jacket if it’s cool. I started off wearing a scarf because it was cold in the morning, then I took it off when it warmed up.

The look below is another one I pulled from items in my closet. This sweater is OLD y’all! It is from Express years ago, but I decided to keep it, and I’m glad I did. It is a great, chunky, off white cardigan and perfect for cold days. That paired with an old, loose-fitting gray v-neck seems like an ideal combo. Oh, and these leopard flats! I found them at Off Broadway, and they are made with Dr. Scholl’s inserts inside, meaning they are super easy on your feet. I love them and plan to get a whole lot of wear out of them. I bought them on sale, and they were around $35, $50 regular price.

Thank you for reading! I hope this gives you some inspiration for laid-back Fall fashion. Now, go shop your closet and see how many outfits you can style with your existing wardrobe.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the shoes! I’ve been looking for some leopard print flats. And Dr. Scholls? They must be comfortable, right?

So, that absolutely awesome old navy sweater you’re wearing in those pictures? Yeah, I had that, and I totally lost it yesterday (fell out of my purse at Target), and now I’m devastated. Haha – it was one of my favorite things i owned (perfect for Texas weather)! Anyway, I’ve been searching online to try to find it (on ebay or somewhere) to no avail, but I stumbled across your blog (thank you, Google Image Search)! This probably sounds totally weird, but I wondered if you might be able to email me the code/sku/whatever on the tag so I can try to find it somewhere! 🙂 The ones they’re selling now are a thicker weave and I just sweat too much. Weirdest blog comment ever, no? 😉

Hi Claire, I’m sorry it took me a couple days. I’ve had a really busy week. The only numbers I see are on the tag, under the size. They are: RN 54023. Because I no longer have the store tag, I do not have a bar code or the numbers to correlate with the bar code. I hope that number I found is helpful!!

Thanks for the help! Sadly, apparently ON uses that code a LOT (repeatedly, for different things). Looks like I may be out of luck. Thank you for the help though!

Hey Charlotte! I wrote a super long comment the other day re: the cute old navy cardigan. I hate to re-hash it here if you saw it but for some reason it’s not showing up for me. :/ I would love to get the sku/tag info from you for that – I had that exact sweater ’til I TOTALLY lost it this past weekend, and I’m super sad. Trying to hunt it down on ebay/somewhere!

Also, Oops. Your name is Lindsay. My bad. I stumbled across your blog using google image search (hunting down that sweater). But now that I’ve done a little more perusing…doh…I realized my mistake! Apologies!
