Happy Birthday, Davis!!! I keep trying to fathom how this happened, but somehow our baby boy is two years old today! Davis is without a doubt the greatest blessing to Todd and I. He makes us laugh all the time, and we are constantly in awe of how quickly he is growing and learning. He is sweet, smart, fun, spunky, energetic, sometimes crazy, sometimes shy, tough, and all boy. I can’t put into words how much he means to us, but I wanted to record a little about his personality!
Davis loves being with our family, and he doesn’t mind being the center of attention. 😉 He LOVES trucks, buses, cars, tractors, any vehicle really. He says “tractor” or “bus” a hundred times if he sees one on a car ride. He never stops moving, and just loves to play, help in the kitchen or in the yard, or run around outside. He is curious and gets into everything and is starting to ask a lot of questions. He also likes to try and take things like kitchen appliances apart and put them back together. Meal times are not always the easiest, but the boy is obsessed with sandwiches and bananas. He thinks any meal with a sandwich is called lunch! Ha!! He likes to be on the go, and he likes to be with other people. Lately he’s been pulling on our shirts or pants to get us to come play with him. He tells Kenan (our huge golden retriever) to “hush!” when he’s barking! He is wild sometimes, but also has a sweet spirit. He is learning to pray before dinner and bedtime, asks me to play “Jesus Loves Me” in the car on repeat, and he likes to sit and read books with one of us.
He says so many words now that I can’t keep up, but some of my favorites from his own language are:
“Mimi” = Grammy
“Moo-ma” = Grandma
“i-ich” = Sandwich
“Unch” = Lunch
“Pah-bu” = Thank you (this is how he’s always said it, and I haven’t even tried to correct him ;))
“Pah-bu Pah-bu” = No thank you
“Ih-ick” = Music
“Wawash” = Water
These are a few pictures from the last month, and a couple from his party last night:
(Thank you to my sister-in-law, Abbie, for the pictures from his party. Love them!!!)
He is truly a gift from God, and we couldn’t be more thankful for him! I am sad he’s already two, but I am excited to watch him grow and see where the Lord will lead his life.
We love you, Davis! You are our FAVORITE!
We’re off to celebrate with pancakes, the park, and more presents! xoxo

He’s such a cutie! By the way, taking things apart and putting them back together is exactly like his Uncle Joe! As kids, we were always a bit afraid to let Joel have access to our toys because we never knew what he was going to do to them 🙂
