The holiday season is my favorite, but it is also the busiest for us and most people! Events and obligations tend to always crowd the calendar. But, getting to see family and friends and have celebrations more often is amazing, so I can’t complain! More on the schedule this weekend as Todd and I are heading out of town for his work Christmas party.
Thought I’d use this post to do a quick catch-up on our life lately. Linking up again with April, Christina, Natasha, and Darci for Five on Friday. Thank you for stopping by!
ONE: A Thanksgiving picture. We got some bad news (more on that in another post) right before a family event the day before Thanksgiving. We still saw family throughout the week, and I am so thankful for the time with everyone and also the distraction. But, I wasn’t really in the mood to post a family picture on Instagram, so here is our family pic from the day after Thanksgiving. We were celebrating with Todd’s family, and had a great reunion with everyone!
TWO: I will be posting all about Davis’ birthday party soon, most likely first thing next week – stick around! We had such a fun time planning his school bus themed second birthday party. If you want to see the full post on his party, come back Monday. For now, here is a peek into the craziness. 😉 The first picture is one of my favorites from the day: the kids playing Red Light, Green Light in our back yard. And the desserts were a creative aspect that made us proud: cookies that I made and decorated to match the theme and a stoplight cake pop holder that Todd built!
THREE: On his actual birthday we celebrated with pancakes, the park with his Grammy and cousins, and then his Granddaddy came over during lunch. Our child is oh so loved! Then his Grandma (Todd’s mom) was here later in the week!
FOUR: Tuesday was my Granny’s birthday. She would have been 80 this year! I miss her so often, and have been thinking of her more than normal this week. Just wanted to post a throwback picture (2008) in honor of her memory. She was a remarkable lady! Some of my favorite childhood memories are times spent with her. (Davis is named after her married name, my mom’s maiden name).
FIVE: Todd’s best friend, Jeremy’s birthday was Wednesday, and we went to the Hornets game with him and Sarah to celebrate! Todd bought tickets when they went on pre-sale, and the timing worked out perfectly for a birthday double date. We randomly were moved up to a box (as long as we wore the provided Hanes t-shirts for 2o seconds while the camera was on us). It was so nice, and definitely a great way to watch a basketball game. Oh, and Jeremy saw Michael Jordan! He and Todd talking about that was like watching two little star-struck boys. It was a really great experience, and it made me want to go back to another game this year!
Thank you all for stopping by! Have a great weekend. 🙂
