Though I’m pretty bummed that this is the start of the last weekend of the holidays, I am feeling abundantly blessed and spoiled. Christmas was extra fun with Davis this year (besides the cutting-two-year-molars and ear infection drama – just keeping it real!), and we spent so much quality time with family and at our church. (By the way, Christmas recap posts are coming next week! Nothing like starting the New Year off already behind on blogging, right? ;)).
Then my 30th birthday was this week, and Todd and my family and friends have, and still are, spoiling me rotten. I am a really lucky girl! And well, 30 feels amazing!
I’m linking up with Christina, Natasha, April, and Darci today, and also Karli for Five on Friday.
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend, and a wonderful New Year!
ONE: First, I had to share this outfit, because it is basically my uniform. It is nothing groundbreaking, but still. Ladies, if you are a stay at home mom, or someone who runs all the errands, or you just want to be comfy but cute on a Saturday or after work, or if you’re having a girls night in, or going on a date to the movies, etc etc, THIS is the perfect look. I have had this sweater for 2 years and I’m still obsessed. Mine is from Asos – they no longer carry this exact one, but here is a similar version, and check this page on their site for a variety of other options.
An oversized chunky off white sweater + boyfriend jeans + ankle booties + a simple turquoise necklace. Easy peasy and pulled together – the exact type of look that works best for my life. P.S. Do you see my little photo bomber? On the move as usual. 🙂
TWO: While wearing that outfit (for the 2nd day in a row) a few weeks ago, I needed a quick snack/pick-me-up. I made myself a smoothie in the Ninja in an individual cup with ice, a banana, almond butter, almond milk, cocoa powder, plus about 1/2 cup of room temperature coffee. I had some errands to run, and it had been an exhausting day (hello life with a TWO year old!!!), and this gave me the perk I needed! I later found this recipe from Jill’s Good Life for Less blog, and it’s perfect. I like the addition of spinach, and you could always add a little coffee to hers. I have a feeling this will be a common snack this month, especially because I’m starting a grain-free eating, no-added-sugar eating plan on Monday.
THREE: We put some bubble bath in Davis’ stocking, and he has been loving it! He’ll yell “Bobbelsss!” and it cracks me up. I love toddler language. (also shared this on instagram)
FOUR: Todd gave me these New Balances for my birthday this week and I’m obsessed. I wore them with this outfit yesterday. Todd’s love for sneakers has begun to influence me. I used to only buy running shoes for working out but now I wear them all the time. Plus another pic from yesterday. My baby boy is looking way too old!
(nail polish is Essie Tuck it in My Tux – latest favorite)
FIVE: I wrote out my goals and hopes for 30 // 2015 in my previous post. Another quote I considered including in that post. Time to be brave and step out of our comfort zones!
