Five on Friday: Happy Valentine’s Day!

February 13, 2015

It is hard for me to believe that this is the 12th Valentine’s Day Todd and I have spent together!  I couldn’t have dreamed of a better lifelong Valentine.  And now that we’re a family and Davis is old enough to start understanding holidays, we’re looking forward to adding some extra hearts and gifts into tomorrow for him!

I hope you all have fun plans this weekend with the people you love.  Moving on to my 5…

Linking up with all of these lovely ladies today:

ONE: Davis has been working on some art to send to family, and I think it’s the greatest (biased, yes!).  I know he’s a boy and it’s all girly colors, but it is a pink and red holiday, after all.  Too bad I’m not on the ball, because his grandparents will probably not even get these in the mail until Monday.  Oops.

TWO: Yesterday I took Davis over to Sarah‘s for a play date and for her to watch him while I was at a meeting.  He really loves his cousins (and the snacks he gets at Aunt Sarah’s). 😉

THREE: I was experimenting with a chocolate granola, fruit and yogurt parfait this week.  I found a great recipe for Chocolate-Coconut Granola, and it pairs perfectly with strawberries or raspberries for Valentine’s Day!  This parfait is made from strawberries with the tops cut out like a V to look like hearts, then vanilla Greek yogurt and the granola.  We had some as dessert last night.

FOUR: Todd and I are going out tonight instead of tomorrow, to try and beat the crowds.  Because we are old. I’m honestly worried about how cold it is supposed to be in Charlotte, and was tempted to stay home and cancel our plans!  Because I’m old. We’re eating at The Summit Room.  Anyone been there?!  I had a cute dress I planned to wear, but now I’ll most likely be bundled up in lots of layers.  I do love this look for inspiration – it is chic, dressy, put together, but still warm.  And the blush and burgundy tones are perfect for this holiday.  I couldn’t find the source, but I do have it pinned.

FIVE: xoxo.

I’m so bad about making Valentines for family…I should try and be better about that. His artwork is so adorable! And that parfait looks delicious, good job!

Cute parfaits! I love that idea — a sweet treat without sooooo much sugar! My son loves going to his aunt’s house too. I think the only place he likes more is Disneyland! It’s nice to know there is a place we can bring them where they feel really happy, cared for and loved!
