It’s Friday! Woohoo! You all know the drill around here – 5 of my favorites + randoms on my mind this week.
I’m linking up with the Five on Friday girls: April, Christina, Darci, and Natasha; Oh Hey Friday! with Karli; and Friday Favorites with Erika, Narci, and Andrea.
ONE: I wanted to give an update on my new skin care items that I mentioned last week. I am really enjoying using the rose petal witch hazel! I haven’t tried the Bio Oil yet – if I do I will post a review. The witch hazel seems to be evening out my skin tone, which I am so surprised by! (in a good way!) I did buy a new face wash: basis cleaner clean face wash which I really like as well. I use it with my Clarisonic.
TWO: Textured, embroidered, beaded, exotic-looking clutches. YES PLEASE. I pinned this look from Ketch’em Bunnies after Sarah did, and it is perfect inspiration for Summer. I found some similar clutches online and had to share. So good, right?! This is definitely something I want to add to my wardrobe as it gets warmer.
Clockwise: 1. Nordstrom 2. J Crew 3. Asos 4. Asos
THREE: I’ve made a whole lot of salted caramel macarons lately. Here are a couple pictures that give a glimpse into what my kitchen often looks like. These are two of the last steps of macaron making: finding matching pairs, and then filling with the buttercream.
FOUR: I got a gel (shellac) manicure with a girlfriend for the first time last weekend, and I think I’ve found a new addiction. I honestly have never really loved getting my nails done. But having nails that don’t chip, even through lots of cooking, washing dishes, changing diapers, etc? It’s awesome. This blog post from JillGG’s Good Life for Less is a true look at the comparison between gel and traditional manicures. I found some CND brand colors that I am considering for next time: Indigo Frock or Field Fox.
FIVE: 11 Skills Every Amateur Chef Should Learn from Domaine Home. As someone who cooks all the time, professionally and for fun, and who has a culinary degree, I appreciated this list. I think anyone can learn to cook, and it really just takes some basic skills, practice, and a little creativity. After I read this I thought of several other helpful skills (making sauces, knife cuts, etc), but this article is a great starting point!
Happy Friday, all! I’m off to finish cooking for a womens’ event at church tonight. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Thank you for stopping by!
That is quite the macaroon production you’ve got going on! They look delicious. Hope you have a great weekend.
Delayed response, Cat. I apologize. But yes, SO many macarons! 🙂
These are all great choice, I’m loving all of those amazing clutches! I always wondered about the Clarisonic do you like it and find it works? Thanks so much for stopping by my blog, I was excited when my friend Jill told me about this link-up and glad to meet new bloggers:)

Hi Marta, I’m sorry it has taken me a week to reply. I love the Clarisonic, but make sure to start with one of the gentle brush heads. The Normal one is probably too harsh for most skin.
I am totally with you on the Shellac! Sometimes I use OPI color gel as well. I’ve been doing it for a few years now and it keeps my nails super strong. It’s the best! Also, those macaroons look AMAZING!
I love getting my nails done and Shallac is amazing 😉 Happy weekend!!

Stefanie, I’m sorry for the delayed reply! But thank you! 🙂
I keep seeing these beautiful clutches everywhere and I’m loving your picks! Now I am craving a macroon, they look delicious! Xo, Stephanie
Stephanie, I apologize – I’m trying to catch up. Sorry to make you crave sweets. 😉 Have a great weekend! Thank you for reading my blog!
I am so impressed with your macarons! They are my favorite but I am way to intimidated to try them on my own!
Courtney, I apologize for not replying sooner. You’re sweet, thank you! They take practice, but you’d get the hang of it!
