Ready for a post FULL of pictures?! We had such a fun, busy weekend, and I can’t help but document (a.k.a. overshare) it all. I also posted a link at the bottom of the page to one of my favorite worship songs from our church.
On Friday, Todd and I dyed eggs with Davis. Then that night I had a girls’ night out with Sarah and Ashley to celebrate Ashley’s birthday! Nails, shopping, sushi – perfect combo for a mama’s night out of the house.
I volunteered for church on Saturday, then we went over to my aunt and uncle’s house to celebrate Easter with my side of the family. We were sad to be missing a few people, but it was still a packed house! We ate dinner and watched Bryleigh, Cam, and Davis hunt for Easter eggs. Their great-grandparents gave them (stuffed animal) bunnies that they all loved!
And the most fun part?!! Sarah and Jeremy had a surprise gender reveal! They gave us each an egg, and inside was a blue peep. They’re having a BOY! I am so excited, and it was just the best surprise. Sarah also posted a video on her instagram of their reveal.
On Sunday Davis searched for his Easter basket (he followed a trail of eggs) in his Christmas pajamas (so much laundry!). Then I made pancakes, which really were not very good. Davis even spit some of them out. The morning was certainly not Pinterest-worthy, but we did have a family breakfast and Todd read Davis the Easter story from his Storybook Bible. So that counts as a sort-of win, right?!
We left a huge mess in our house – dirty dishes and Easter eggs everywhere – but we made it to church on time! Spending the morning worshipping Jesus and witnessing people coming to Christ was amazing. I love the community and friendships we have developed at Elevation. We had lunch and relaxed the rest of the day at my parents’ house. It was a weekend that reminded me of the many reasons I have to be thankful. Side note: I think purple may just be my mom’s best color. So pretty!
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!
For the Lamb has overcome. Everlasting love has won. In eternal praise we will lift Him up! For the Lamb has overcome the world.

YES to all of this. Your mom looks beautiful – she needs a closet full of purple. And your pictures of the kids are so good. I need some camera lessons! And… our house was a complete disaster when we left for church Sunday morning too 🙂 #ohwell

Thanks, Neely! Yes, she really looked so great! I don’t know too much about my camera. I have a nice one, but really I just try and find natural light, and rarely use the flash. I’m pretty sure being a mom of a boy means always having a messy house, or always cleaning. Guess we better get used to it. 😉
