Summer is here!! Happy Memorial Day weekend!
I am currently surrounded by moving boxes and our house is a wreck! The whole buying and selling process has been complicated and stressful. Though it has been frustrating, we are very thankful to be moving to a new house, and that our house sold quickly. We have so many precious memories in this house, and are looking forward to continue building our lives together in the new house!
I haven’t been taking care of this blog well lately, but hopefully once we get more settled in the new house, my posts will increase. I do plan on posting the decorating process and some DIY projects in our new home!
I’m going to use this Friday post to catch up a little on our life lately…
I’m joining April; Karli; and Erika, Andrea and Narci today for all of the fun Friday link-ups!
ONE: Last weekend we celebrated several family birthdays! The first was on Friday. Cam and Bryleigh had a combination shark and tea party birthday party, complete with pinatas! It was so fun, and Sarah did an awesome job planning and making the two themes work together. (Their birthdays are 2 days apart).
TWO: On Saturday our whole family got together to celebrate them, and also my cousin, Caroline! She and Cam share a birthday. Caroline is certainly one of the funniest people in our family! She also has great style and taste, and always looks beautiful. I was so so happy to see my cousins who now live in Alabama. And seeing my cousin Lauren’s baby girl was the best. She is the cutest, squishiest, happiest little girl and she gives me major baby fever.
This picture of Caroline and Bryleigh is from their birthday celebration last year, but I love it!
THREE: Saturday night was Bryleigh’s dance recital (she’s on the far right). I copied Lauren’s description on instagram…it was hilariously precious. Those little 3 and 4 year olds did not really remember the dance, but they were just ridiculously adorable. At one point Bryleigh spotted her mom in the crowd and stopped dancing and waved with both hands, with the biggest smile on her face!
FOUR: On Sunday we went to the lake to celebrate one of our friend’s birthdays! The water was warm enough for swimming, and we spent the afternoon paddle boarding and jumping off their 2-story dock. We had a blast, and though Todd and I probably should have spent the afternoon packing, it was a perfect stress reliever and I’m so happy we went.
FIVE: Todd and I are in a couples small group that meets about once a month. We usually take turns cooking dinner for the group, then discuss a book on marriage and play a game. We always have a good time, but last night we did something different. Adele and Jeremy got us out of our comfort zones last night. Honestly I was not looking forward to it, because things like this usually freak me out! (I am a major wimp when it comes to scary things). We went to Exit Strategy and were locked in a “Cabin in the Woods” themed room. We had an hour to solve puzzles and riddles, and unlock several boxes to find clues that would help us escape. Thankfully we made it out with only 5 extra minutes added.
SIX: Breaking the rules a bit with 6 things. 😉 For all of the change that’s happening, our little guy is being such a trooper. I’m still worried with how he’ll do once we actually move next week, but he is handling the packing situation so well. Proud of him!
Alright, I’m off to pack some more boxes! Happy long weekend, everyone! Enjoy Memorial Day!

I’ve never heard of something like “Exit Strategy” but it sounds so neat… I wonder if there’s something like it in the Baltimore area? Have a great weekend 🙂
