We are heading south soon to vacation in the Caribbean for a few days! I am kind of a nerd in a lot of ways, and one of them is how I pack. Well, how I used to pack. I used to write a list of every day, with the weather forecast, and write out exactly what I’d be wearing that day, down to the bra and jewelry. I don’t have as much time to do that now with a rambunctious 2 year old, but I did take pictures of some potential outfits!
One thing that is so exciting about packing for a trip is the change in wardrobe. Most of my days are spent with unfixed hair, wearing yoga pants. On a nice vacation I can actually wear “outfits!”
I am going to try and repeat a lot of items, rather than overpack. We’ll see how that goes. 😉
So here’s what I’m planning to wear for dinners:
This is the dress I wore to some friends’ wedding in the Outer Banks last summer. I figured if I was ever going to wear it again, now is the time. (Let’s hope I can still fit in it!!!)
This is a backless romper, and WAY out of my comfort zone. It’s from Forever 21, so if I only wear it a couple times, no big loss, right??
Two options with this lace skirt – a casual black tank or an off white blouse.
Black loose-fitting black pants from Loft. They have an elastic waistband and pockets, but still look dressy enough. Win.
And here are a couple day time outfits:
This is a “muscle tee” from Forever 21, with a cropped top from Topshop to go underneath. It is going to be HOT, so these lightweight clothes will be key.
These are a few of the swimsuits and cover ups: Not included is a flowy black maxi dress that I had altered to be a high-waisted maxi skirt. I will wear that with the ruffled black bikini top. I’m also carrying (an enormous, ha!) canvas Baggu bag that Sarah found from West Elm. It will be my carry-on and beach bag. It is beige with a gold accent around the base – love it.
Athletic clothes. We’re planning to get at least a couple workouts in on this trip, and possibly play tennis. Plus I can’t leave home without workout clothes – they are my uniform.
I’m off to run some last-minute errands and spend the day with my boy (who I will miss more than I can stand)!
