Let’s face it. No one wants to pull out their full arsenal of makeup in the heat of the summer. It has been almost 100 degrees here every day lately, and I have little motivation to get all dolled up. But I do try and put on at least a little makeup if I’m going out. My hair and clothes might be a mess, but the dark circles under my eyes shall be covered. 😉
(If we’re going to the gym or pool, I skip the makeup and just stick to sunscreen, SPF 45).
I was getting ready recently and thought it could be helpful to share my summer makeup routine. It is simple, quick, and relatively cheap!
- I start with moisturizer, then SPF. Then I prime my face with CC cream, which also has SPF. Listen, I have plenty of sun damage and now I’m in full skin-protection mode. The more SPF the better!
- After the CC cream, I cover my dark circles, any blemishes, and the reddish areas around my nose with a little concealer. Then I do a light dusting of my favorite Bare Minerals powder. I’ve changed to a medium tone now that I have some color on my face (courtesy of a spray tan – not all from being in the sun).
- I then apply bronzer on my cheeks and lightly all over my face. I try to contour a little with the bronzer.
- I finish with brown eyeliner and black mascara.
**Update** I’m adding a picture of myself with my makeup done this way. Please excuse the gym clothes and the mess in the background! Real life, people. 😉
Easy, yet pulled together!
Thank you for reading!
