It has been another fun and busy week around here! Last night I attended a Kendra Scott event at South Park hosted by April and Sarah. This is the first of this kind of event I’ve been to, and I’m so happy I went! My friend Caroline went with me, and we had a great time! I even came home with some fun jewels! Just wish I had taken some pictures.
I hope you all have a fabulous Friday and stay as cool as possible this weekend!
I’m linking up with April; Karli; Erika, Narci, and Andrea again this week.
ONE: I’m already thinking Fall clothes – anyone else? I ordered these booties from Sole Society. I need some updated booties this year, especially in black. These look great online. I will post more details once I receive them! (Just fyi, you can receive 20% off your first order).
TWO: More hair updates. I had my hair cut shorter and updated the balayage color on Wednesday. My hair hasn’t been this short since 2007 but so far I’m enjoying it! The shorter blow-drying time doesn’t hurt either! Thank you Planet 21 for another great hair experience!
THREE: The Honor Roll is BuzzFeed-worthy! Todd and Ryan’s t-shirt business was featured in an article on BuzzFeed last week: 18 “Friday Night Lights” Products That Will Make You Miss Dillon. Way to go guys! “Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can’t Lose.” Check them out! They’re currently sold out, but another order is on it’s way!
FOUR: I am planning to start a new series (of sorts, I won’t be too strict) on my healthy habits. I’m a total nerd about health trends and keeping myself and my family in shape. If you want to get into a lengthy conversation with me, bring up nutrition. It’s my thing! So I am always fascinated by what’s new and hot in health and I thought I should start posting about what I’ve tried and what works for me. I want to try some new trends, but for now, here are some of my blog post ideas of practices that I currently put into habit:
- Dry Brushing
- Clean, Green, Lean
- Gallon of Water
- Oil Pulling
- Vitamins & Supplements
- Clay Mask
- Gluten & Dairy Free
- Healthy Fats
- Vegetable-Based Diet
- Probiotics
- Healthy “Extras”
- Essential Oils
- Apple Cider Vinegar
- Manuka Honey
FIVE: Working on this. It is perfect timing, too, seeing as how LOVE Week begins at our church this weekend. If you’re looking for a way to volunteer and serve the city of Charlotte, we have tons of opportunities!
Have a lovely weekend! Thank you for stopping by!

I am totally over summer and moving onto fall! I keep catching myself looking at soup and apple recipes and pinning jeans and scarves on Pinterest. I am a Fall Girl through and through.
Move on over summer.

Britanie, with Pinterest and blogs and sales, it’s nearly impossible not to wish for Fall!! It will be here before we know it. 🙂 I’m going to try and relish the last few weeks of summer, even though we’re practically melting. Ha!

Hi I have recently found your blog and I love all your recipes! I made your baja shrimp black bean salad for my MIL’s birthday dinner this week and it was a huge hit! I would love to read your opinion on Gluten & Dairy free diets, along with probiotics! I am trying to slowly recreate my families eating habits and daily regimes! I love trying out new things and finding easy ways to implement them into our lives! Thanks for all the inspiring posts! xoxo- Erin

Erin, this comment made me so happy! I’m so glad that my recipes have helped and that you enjoyed the shrimp salad! I will do my best to get a “healthy” post up soon. I’ll start with one of the topics you’re interested in – I truly appreciate the feedback. Way to go for working on your family’s health!! High five!

Love your hair! So cute! Also would love to hear more about your healthy habits, I’ve been on the struggle bus trying to get back into my old active lifestyle!

Marisa, thank you! I always struggle more in the Summer for some reason, but just remember that one (or a few) bad days can always be turned around! Hopefully my upcoming posts will be helpful to you (and will be a good reminder for me as well). Happy weekend!

LOVEEE your short new hair do! Could you post a short tutorial on how you get such fab beachy waves? I recently cut mine around the same length but can’t quite adjust to curling it with the new length! Thank you!!
sevenlayercharlotte says
Renee, this comment just made.my.day! I feel so honored that you’d want hair tips from me! To be honest, though, this picture was right after leaving the salon. I will, however, do my best to post my tips on styling beachy waves on shorter hair. I’ve almost have it down! Have a great day!

Your hair looks amazing. I wish I could pull that cut off. I am going through post pregnancy hair loss and thinking of maybe cutting it short again (lob).
