Life Lately

July 30, 2015

Our weekend and the last few days have been busy.  We met some of our good friends’ new baby boy, Joah, on Friday night.  I fell in love and held him the whole time we were there!  IMG_1222

On Saturday I had several projects to work on, and it honestly wasn’t the greatest day.  We worked on this, and let’s just say it wasn’t totally successful.

Then later that night I was cooking, and while doing the dishes I broke the garbage disposal.  So that’s fun.  But we got out on Sunday for a family date.  We paused to take a few photos, and I’m so happy we did.  I just love my handsome boy!

I made this very simple dinner for us one night, but I wanted to share.  It is simply steamed broccoli baked with eggs, seasoned with salt and pepper, and topped with parmesan.  We had it with avocado, and Davis had some strawberries as well.  I topped mine with sriracha.  This is a great and healthy toddler meal!  We learned when Davis was little that he loves eggs, and enjoys them with veggies mixed in.  This is like all of his favorite things (well besides crackers ;)) on one plate.

It has been Love Week at our church this week, and we’ve taken a couple mornings to serve.  The goal of Love Week is to focus one concentrated week on serving our city.  The goal is thousands of hours in helping different outreach partners in Charlotte, and the surrounding area.  There are still plenty of opportunities, through this weekend, to volunteer! (Check out #LoveWeek2015 on social media!)

Davis and I helped assemble math kits for Heart Math Tutoring, then yesterday I served with my mom, and some other wonderful women, at Second Harvest Food Bank.

I’m glad this week is almost over.  Time for a break from real life as we head to the beach this weekend.  Happy Friday Eve!

P.S. I have a “Healthy Habits” blog post in the works.  I’m going to discuss gluten- and dairy-free living this weekend!  Stay tuned!
