I’m baaaaaaaack! I have truly missed these Friday Favorites posts. Linking up with everyone is really fun, and I’m happy to be back at it this week! By the way, redoing a website is no joke. Whew! Mine is still a work in progress, so please forgive any mistakes you find. 🙂 (And please comment or email if you find problems! I am completely open to feedback).
Today I am linking up with April, Christina, Natasha; Karli; Erika, Andrea, Narci; and Tif for all of the Friday celebrations.
ONE: My site is now updated. Though there are still some kinks to work through, it is almost there! I am enjoying the new look, but let me tell you, I am not technologically savvy. For those of you who were looking for my blog the past few weeks, I apologize for any errors! I also apologize for missing any comments! All of my old posts are still there, and I’ve also filled in the Recipes (they are all categorized), Health, Outfits, and Charlotte tabs in the header…the About Me and Beauty pages are still a work in progress. I will continue to work on improving the look and ease of it. To make sure you are seeing my new posts, you can enter your email and subscribe with the button on the right of the screen.
TWO:I’ve had some questions about how I do at-home manicures, and how I get my nail polish to last. But p.s. my nails are definitely not always painted.
First, this cuticle dissolver is something my mom introduced me to, and I love it. It makes your nails look so much cleaner and put together, with hardly any effort. Plus it is inexpensive. I have a nail polishing routine, involving Orly Bonder Rubber basecoat, then 2 coats of polish (I like Essie – I linked to one of my go-to colors, OPI, and Zoya), then OPI gel coat. And sometimes I use Seche Vite if I want them to dry super quickly. I am planning to post all of my nail favorites under the Beauty tab on my header as well.
The color on my nails in the picture is Essie Off Tropic
THREE: This high-neck maternity one-piece was a great Old Navy find. It is currently sold out, but I found a few other cute options for the expecting mamas. I also bought some swim shorts (pictured in pink below) from Old Navy and I love them. My thighs are never my favorite, and even more so now that I’m pregnant, so covering them up a little is fine by me!
I also have the one below in a different color, and I really like it. The straps are easily removed to make it strapless. Their maternity bikini bottoms are also my favorite. I pair them with my regular bikini tops.
The swim shorts. I bought the black, but these would be really fun too. They aren’t maternity, but I just went one size up. And they aren’t this short on me.
This one also comes in black!
FOUR: This is especially for those of you who are local. Do you read Charlotte Agenda? I enjoy following them, and we were pleasantly surprised to find out that they featured one of our t-shirts last week! They wrote an article to explain some common Charlotte jargon for out-of-towners or those new to the city. Our Queen City shirt was used in their glossary to explain how our city received that nickname! Thank you, Charlotte Agenda!
FIVE: We’ve already made some great Summer memories, and I know there are many more to come.
SIX: Saltwater Gospel by Eli Young Band. If you haven’t heard it, I highly recommend you download it! You can hear a glimpse of the song here. We’ve been listening to it on repeat.
“When I go down and sink my feet in the water / And I soak up that sun and I watch it set / Yeah I can feel, the power of the saltwater gospel / I’m as close to God as I can get…. Amen, I’m in heaven watching all these waves roll in.” Cannot wait to be back in my favorite place, watching the waves, very soon!

I love the neckline on that bathing suit. When I went suit shopping a few months ago I had such a hard time finding things that fit! I had to go with separates.
