Cheers to a summery, holiday weekend filled with red, white, and blue! I hope you all have some fun plans on the books! Here are a few of my Friday Favorites…
Today I am linking up with April, Christina, Natasha; Karli; Erika, Andrea, Narci; and Tif for all of the Friday celebrations.
ONE: Give.me.all.the.peaches. I haven’t had really strong pregnancy cravings until this week. And peaches are my current craving. Speaking of cravings, earlier this week all I wanted was a regular Coke with crushed ice. And I don’t even drink sodas. Cannot remember the last time I had Coke – it’s been many years. Hormones are weird! I passed on the Coke, by the way.
My parents brought some local peaches down to the beach, and my mom sent a few home with me. I can’t get enough! I searched Pinterest for some peach recipe ideas. Here are my finds. I can’t wait to try them all asap!
Peach, Kiwi, Coconut Water Popsicles
Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Peach BBQ Sauce
Peaches & Cream Cinnamon Rolls
TWO: Yesterday we went to Imaginon and 7th Street Market with some dear friends. She was Davis’ preschool teacher this year, and I just adore her and her kids. They all had a blast, and Jessica and I felt like we deserved a mom award after. Ha!
THREE: Though my current interior design focus is on the boys’ rooms + shared bathroom, I have our master bedroom weighing on me as well. We have purchased a new rug and bed in the past year, but we still need some decor elements. Particularly on my mind is some artwork for above the bed.
Have you all ever ordered art prints through Society 6? I have always had a good experience, so that is where I’ve been looking. I particularly love the abstracts by Patricia Vargas. I have pinned some inspiration:
I also really love this ocean photo by Leah Flores.
FOUR: I want to try making a patriotic craft with my son in honor of the 4th. I think we could handle making one of these.
Pom Pom American Flag Painting
FIVE: Our church commits one week each year to focus solely on serving our community – Love Week! It starts soon, and I wanted to get the word out. In the past, as a whole church, we have served our city up to 100,000 volunteer hours during this one week. Basically there are PLENTY of volunteer opportunities throughout Charlotte, Rock Hill, Lake Norman, Raleigh-Durham, Roanoke, and the Space Coast area of FL. And you do not have to be a part of our church to participate! There are even some family-friendly events where you can bring your kids. Davis has LOVED serving in the past! Love Week goes from July 9-16. Here is the link to check out all of the possible ways to serve.

Tomorrow morning I am finally going to post my GO-TO Chocolate Cupcake Recipe. WITH Vanilla Cream Cheese Buttercream AND the link to the absolute best Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies with Sea Salt recipe. How cute would these be with red, white, and blue sprinkles for the 4th?! Stay tuned!
Have a wonderful weekend!

I have been LOVING peaches as well… I’m not pregnant, just can’t get enough 🙂 That’s so awesome that your church dedicates a week to serving the community. Such a great idea!

I love the abstract paintings from Patricia Vargas after checking her out. I’ve been thinking about putting an abstract piece in my nursery. I’d love to know if you end up using Society 6 and what your experience is like!
Lindsay says
I apologize for the delay, Anna! An abstract piece would be perfect in a nursery. I have used Society 6 for a couple of abstract prints in the past, and I was very happy. They come rolled up, in sturdy packaging. I had them framed after purchasing them. We still have them all hanging in our new house. They are a print – keep that in mind – not the actual painting. Good luck with it!
