It’s been awhile! I need to write a life catch-up post, but for now I’ll share my Friday favorites. Currently I’m a bit under the weather and 37 weeks pregnant, but blogging is always a happy distraction!
Before I dive in to the post, it’s impossible not to take a moment to recognize what’s happening in our city. The violence, division, and racism are causing extensive unrest and hurt in Charlotte. It is scary and tragic. I do not have the right words to say, but I am praying for our city – the people, the police, the families involved. I posted this on instagram yesterday, because this verse (John 16:33) has been on replay in my mind. Though our world is in turmoil, and we have A LOT to fix, we can find reassurance knowing that, ultimately, Jesus has overcome. He is the only one who can bring true peace. The best thing I know to do at this point is to seek after Him.
Today I am linking up with all of the Friday link-up girls: April, Christina, Natasha; Karli; Erika, Andrea, Narci; and Tif
ONE: We’ve made some progress in the nursery! I’m obsessed with a few of the elements in this space, particularly the print from House of Belonging. Todd and I hope that our boys will embrace these words in their hearts.
TWO: Shopping. And cold shoulder sweaters. Though I know it will be some time before I can wear normal clothes again, I am starting to think about making a few new Fall-Winter purchases. And cold shoulder sweaters are my current favorite. Here are a few affordable ones that I found:
Have any of you ever shopped on SheIn? I want to buy a few things from there, but I’d love some feedback first. Their prices are tough to beat! Here are a couple things in my online cart:
THREE: I’ve been cooking at home again, hallelujah! Life has been crazier than ever, and our baby isn’t even here yet. Yikes. Anyway, it has been nice to be home some lately. Dinner last night was Sesame Ginger Salmon (recipe from Damn Delicious) with Coconut Milk Rice and Roasted Ginger Asparagus (recipe details on instagram).
Also, here’s an example of 3 kitchen staples at our house: eggs, kale, and avocado. Davis and I had this for lunch this week. One of our favorite, go-to meals.
FOUR: More baby boy things! We have to talk about this totally adorable baby hat! Our sweet boy will be sporting this hand-knit beanie from Provision Shop. Thank you for this, Mary! Check out her shop on etsy for more handmade goods, for mama and baby.
(The outfit is from my mom from H&M, and the shoes are from Zulily via Honeysuckle Shoes)
FIVE: I have a confession. Todd and I are officially lazy Americans. 😉 We bought a robot vacuum, and 3 out of the 4 of us LOVE IT. Davis thinks it’s the best thing ever and Todd and I love the ease and effectiveness. Kenan is…not so sure. If you’ve been on the fence about getting one, take the leap! It picks up a ton of dog hair like a champ! We chose a Neato.
Thank you all for reading!

Happy Friday! We have a robot sweeper and I love it. Our dog not so much but it really does help control excessive shedding. I was also sick at 37 weeks and it was miserable – baby came the next week, though! Hope you get to feeling better. I love his little outfit. I’m also loving the cold shoulder trend his year – what a great way to dress up a comfy sweater and feel more put together as a new mom. Found you through the link up and am following along now – I’m also in Charlotte.
