Happy Halloween weekend, gals! Normally I’m not a huge fan of this holiday because I am a total scaredy-cat! But I do love seeing Davis and his friends in their costumes. And I am currently addicted to M&Ms, which feels less like cheating since they come in the tiny trick or treat size bags. π
I’m linking up with these girls to share my Friday Favorites:Β April, Christina, Natasha; Karli; Erika, Andrea, Narci; and Tif
ONE: This last week has been monumental for us! Of course my FAVORITE thing about this week…heck…of all of 2016, is welcoming our second sweet baby boy! I posted tons of pictures from the hospital and his first few days on my blog last night. Here are a few more since being at home.
TWO: On Wednesday the 4 of us managed to get out of the house to vote! It took us forever and a day to get ready, but we did it. Early voting is simple, and quick. Even if you aren’t a fan of either presidential candidate (this election year has given me anxiety-yikes!), it’s at least important to vote for who you believe you want to have an impact on the Supreme Court and legislation the next four years. Also, there are several other government offices that are a part of this election. So go use your rights as an American citizen and make your voice heard.
Three: We have a few fun things planned for Halloween this weekend and Monday. My outfit, courtesy of The Honor Roll, is picked out. It’s going to be warm here, so light layers should work well. And of course Davis can’t wait to wear his costume! All of a sudden he has decided that he is obsessed with dinosaurs. Last week Todd asked him if he was sure he still wanted to be a fireman for Halloween (he’s been saying this for a couple months, even though that’s what he dressed up as last year). Well, last Wednesday he had apparently changed his mind from fireman to dinosaur, and I frantically got online and ordered this costume. (It’s from Party City). I don’t mind the change because he’s got to be the most fun little dino ever!
Four: I wanted to share a couple beauty products that have recently become not just favorites, but MUST-HAVES, for me.
First, a cooler weather neutral nail color: OPI Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around. I had a gel manicure done in this color a couple weeks ago and I was immediately obsessed. It’s a beige-ish color with a tiny hint of lavender, and gray. It looks pink in the picture, but it’s not once it’s on your nails. Definitely ordering a bottle for at-home manicures!
Second, magic in a bottle! Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray is amazing, and I wish I had tried it years ago! It gives body and texture to my flat, stick-straight hair, making it easier to curl and style. Plus it smells like a hair salon, like you’ve really done something right on your hair that day. π You can buy a small can to try it out, or go for the full size (or here) – wish I had goneΒ the big can – it’s a better deal!
Five: Coffee is my friend again. While I was pregnant I drank mostly decaf coffee. Every once in a while I would do half and half, and a few times I had a cup of regular coffee. But now that we have a newborn who has had his days and nights flip-flopped, I’ve had to bring some caffeine back into my life! I still brew a pot of mixed decaf-regular, but that extra jolt does get me going in the morning! Where would mamas be without their beloved coffee?!?
Thank you all for stopping by! Enjoy your weekend!

Loving your Friday Favorites π Especially the gorgeous nail polish shade and the trendy outfit (that shirt is perfect – October is my favorite month!) and it looks like it would look great with your booties and plaid shirt.

Oh my goodness what a beautiful family you have! Congratulations on your newest arrival. Both little guys are just handsome as can be! Coffee, yay! I remember taking it easy on my liquid rejuvenation during pregnancy and how vital it was when my tiny tots were mixing up days and nights too! I hope your weekend is full of happy sweetness! Enjoy yourself and snag a nap or two!

Thank you, Amanda! We have to document the times we’re all in “real” clothes, and I have makeup on. π I didn’t think I’d need coffee as much as I do now! Newborn schedules are rough. But we’re trying to enjoy it all! Thank you for stopping by!

Your boys are just the absolute cutest!! I’m not a huge fan of Halloween either, for the same reason, and am also experiencing anxiety over this election. But you’re right, the result will have such a huge impact on many generations to come. On a happier note, love the polish. Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!

Thank you so much, Melissa! I’m just ready for the election to be over…the social media posts and the anger around the election is just nuts. Soon enough, right? Thank you for commenting, and I hope you’re enjoying your week!!
