My skin is a constant work in progress, and has been that way since high school. I have dry skin that is acne-prone (and wrinkles, of course), so my skincare regimen can be a bit complicated. Because I know I am not alone in these struggles, if I find something that works well, I am always eager to share it with you all! I am not a beauty blogger, but I try not to keep any secrets about what has worked for me.
Let me start by saying that I am not selling BeautyCounter, nor receiving any compensation for this. I tested out some of their products for a friend, but these are my honest opinions!
I was recently introduced to BeautyCounter by my friend and neighbor, Stephanie. She and I are both passionate (our husbands might say obsessive ;)) about health, and chat regularly about improving our well-being.
I have heard wonderful things about BeautyCounter, but I had not tried any of the products until recently. Stephanie gave me some samples of several of their products, and asked if I would try them out. I am always open to trying new things, especially health trends! I tried several, and wanted to share my honest feedback.
These were my favorites of the products I have tried so far: the kids shampoo and body wash, the charcoal mask, and the balancing face oil.
We really liked using the kids’ shampoo and body wash, and the cute bottles make it extra appealing.
This may be the most unflattering picture of me, but I wanted to show the charcoal mask at work! This is on my wish list, and I will probably purchase it soon. The charcoal mask smells great, works well, and my skin felt immediately refreshed after using it. It is one of the overall favorites in the BeautyCounter line of products.
My favorite item, by far, was the Balancing Face Oil! I actually just ordered my own bottle. I’ve always been scared to use an oil on my face, because I figured it would cause me to break out, but that was not the case with their oil! I used the oil for several nights after washing my face. It feels great, and I woke up with a refreshed, dewy complexion, even with the severe lack of sleep we’ve been getting. I know this will help keep my skin hydrated through the winter months as well.
If you haven’t heard much about BeautyCounter, start by reading “The Never List.” The list of chemicals found in conventional hygiene products in the U.S. is alarming, but BeautyCounter keeps all of those OUT of their skincare and makeup. I’m sure I will gradually add more of their skin and makeup items to my regimen, and I’ll be sure to keep you posted!
