Happy freezing cold weekend, gals! Truthfully we hardly know what real cold is like in the South, but we are supposed to get some snow this weekend. My husband ran by Trader Joe’s yesterday just in case we get snowed in, and now we are fully stocked up on wine, plantain chips, and vegetables. 🙂 We started a New Years eating plan, hence the excessive veggies! We’ll see if the weatherman was right!
I am slowly getting back into a blogging groove, and wanted to share 5 of my recent favorites!
ONE: Accessorizing – in Elizabeth Cole rings. Before last year I had never heard of this line of jewelry, but I am so glad I found it! Her jewelry is costume, but subtle enough to wear every day. And her prices are somewhat reasonable, depending on the item. I seriously love so many of her pieces! I received these two ring sets for Christmas and my birthday:
TWO: Teaching – Davis how to cook! Todd and I each gave him Christmas gifts having to do with skills he seems interested to learn. Todd bought him a fishing pole and tackle box, and I bought him a multi-colored whisk, blue measuring cups, and these kid-friendly knives. He enjoys being in the kitchen with me, which I love, so I thought he’d like his own tools! These have been completely worth the $9 I spent! He helped me chop bell peppers, cucumber, and even part of an onion the other day. He was all about it! These knives cannot cut the skin, but they do work to chop vegetables – especially for kids.
If you want a good laugh, watch my instagram video from Wednesday of me trying to explain what a sous chef is to him!
THREE: Wearing (and Obsessing) – This cutie pie is 2 1/2 months and as sweet as can be! We are all obsessed! Todd bought me this Adidas sweatshirt for my birthday and I have to stop myself from wearing it constantly. I wore it 2 days in a row this week, and only stopped because of spit-up all over the shoulder.
FOUR: Reading – The One Year Bible and Elin Hildebrand’s “Barefoot”. I am determined to read more this year, and I’m starting with these. This Bible has a section of the Old Testament, a section of the New Testament, and a Psalm and a Proverb to read each day. I am honestly enjoying reading the Bible this way! I ordered “Barefoot” after reading Mix and Match Mama’s book recommendations. It’s on the kindle app on my iPad and I read it in the middle of the night while I’m nursing Ridge.
Five: Decorating – I asked for a Kelli Kronenberger print to go over our bed, and my parents gave us this set: “Last Weekend I and Last Weekend II“! I love them. Now to get them framed…has anyone used Framebridge? Or should I just order frames from a place like Crate & Barrel? I’d love to do thin gold frames.
I am linking up with April, Christina, Natasha; and Erika, Narci, and Andrea. Thank you for stopping by!

Love those rings lady! Do you have a good daily devotional for new mommas? I am looking for one!

Thank you! I’m reading The One Year Bible, but in the past I’ve done some devotionals from She Reads Truth. They aren’t geared specifically for new moms, though. If I think of something I’ll let you know!
