It feels so good to be blogging about my favorite things this Friday. And I’m pretty sure that 3 posts in a week is a record for me this year!
ONE: This sweater has been worn several times in the past couple of weeks. The mornings have been colder here, but it’s warm by the afternoons. So I’ve been layering, and this has been my go-to. I wore it over a dress with black ankle boots to a kindergarten open house this week, and on top of this overall outfit last week. It is the B.P. brand from Nordstrom, so it is affordable (under $50!!!), but appears nicer than the price. And it is super comfy! I am wearing a small.
see the cardigan on the bed? I have no idea why I didn’t save the picture wearing it
shoes | my overalls are sold out, but here are some similar ones: overalls, overalls, overalls
sweater | (dress is Cynthia Rowley from Marshall’s; black booties are a couple years old)
TWO: Keeping with the girly theme – let’s talk lashes. Before getting pregnant I used a lash serum, but then stopped and I recently started looking for another. My lashes had lost their length. My friend, Ashley, sells Rodan & Fields. I am not affiliated with R&F. But I wanted to tell y’all that Lash Boost seriously works. And I’m pretty sure it will last for many months. I only use it every couple of days and I use a very small amount. I also started using a new mascara, thanks to Christina‘s recommendation. I use these two drugstore mascaras and they’re just as good as the Better Than Sex mascara that’s much more expensive! I use the black tube first for a light coat and my bottom lashes, then a layer of the pink tube on top of that. Both of these have $2.00 off coupons right now!
THREE: Two things here: First, I started a new instagram account where I’ll post all about my boys. My main account is still mostly food and other blog things. My new one: @kingdoncrew is a private account with a picture overload of Davis and Ridge. Second, these new Honey Bee Tees that my mom bought the boys are really great. She got them the pumpkin truck ones and the moose ones for winter.
FOUR: I listen to podcasts off and on throughout the day now. When I’m working out, while I’m fixing dinner (if the boys are resting), while Ridge naps in the mornings, or if he falls asleep in the car, I can listen on my headphones. The Healthy Moms podcast by Wellness Mama is a great resource for moms considering more homeopathic and natural remedies. It is lighthearted and real, yet still so informative.
FIVE: If you’re looking for a fun Fall activity to do with your kids, this scavenger hunt is a good one! We did this at Ridge’s first birthday party on Saturday and the kids truly enjoyed it. You can download and print it from here.
SIX: I made a Chicken Enchilada Bake for dinner the other night and posted the step-by-step on my insta story. I wanted to write it out here as well, because it is definitely worth trying! My family loved this. The enchilada sauce is homemade, but honestly so simple. I used Cookie and Kate’s recipe. You could easily make it ahead of time. I also used half of a rotisserie chicken, rather than cooking my own.
These are not very pretty pictures, but I wanted to illustrate the instructions for you.
- Spoon some of the enchilada sauce on the bottom of an 8″ or 9″ square casserole dish.
- Top with a layer of corn tortillas (I cut mine in half to fit better).
- Spoon a little more sauce on top of the tortillas.
- Top with some chicken, then chopped fresh spinach, then some black beans (drained and rinsed).
- Sprinkle on some grated cheese.
- Repeat the layers.
- Add another layer of the corn tortillas, then some sauce (more this time), then some more grated cheese.
- Bake at 350 degrees until the sauce is bubbly and the cheese is melted.
- Option: broil for a few minutes to brown the cheese a bit more.

You look so cute in your overalls. I want a pair, but I always have a hard time with being almost 5″10. That picture of your boys with the pumpkins is so cute! I had a personal IG account and finally set up one just for the blog. It’s a little crazy trying to do two… but I like that I can give my kids their privacy and not embarrass them with all my blogging stuff. 🙂 Have a great weekend!

Dying for details on the rug in your bedroom! Also, my lashes got so thin during pregnancy. I really want to try lash boost but goodness gracious I can’t justify spending that money right now!!

Love your overalls! I added a pair to my Christmas wishlist. Can’t wait to see if they’ll end up under the tree.
