Each time a holiday is on the way, my aunt, mom, cousin, and I start a group text to try and figure out what food we will make and bring to the occasion. We often all get together at my grandparents’ house, and we share the responsibilities of the meal. Even with 4+ brains working together, we sometimes have a hard time coming up with the exact menu. I wanted to start putting together holiday menu ideas on my blog to help any of you who might have the same dilemma! I’m starting with Easter menu recipe ideas, because it’s only a few days away! Hopefully you haven’t already done all of your grocery shopping for the weekend, because I have some yummy ideas to share…the cupcakes in particular. (I re-read that recipe and just about started drooling. Whole 30 and holidays do not mix!) I included an appetizer, salad, side dish, meat, and dessert!
Easter Menu Recipe Ideas: (click on the dish names below for the link to the recipe)
- Pimento Cheese Deviled Eggs with Crispy Prosciutto
- Brussels Sprouts Salad with Apples (sub strawberries), Carrots, and Raisins
- Asparagus with Honey Mustard Glaze and Toasted Almonds
- Apple Rosemary Grilled Pork Tenderloin
- Gluten Free Carrot Cake Cupcakes with Salted Caramel
The pimento cheese deviled eggs and the asparagus were just posted this past week. I wanted to test them before Easter. And the others are recipes from within the last two years.
The brussels sprouts salad would still be delicious with apples, but for Easter I think berries would be perfect! Try substituting strawberries for the apples, and even use dried blueberries instead of raisins. I can’t wait to try this version soon!
Traditionally ham is served on Easter, but I am more of a pork tenderloin fan. This recipe has a bit of sweetness and tanginess, and works well with the other flavors on the menu!
Carrot cake is one of my favorite cake flavors! These cupcakes are a gluten free twist on my mom’s classic carrot cake. If you would rather not make it gluten free, use self-rising flour instead of the gluten free, and leave out the baking powder and salt.
Happy Easter planning! I would love to know if you try any of these recipes. You can use #sevenlayercharlotte on instagram. Thank you for reading!
