This post is going to be a little different from what I normally write about. But, you guys often ask me about things on instagram stories, and I thought it might be nice to publish some of those frequently asked questions here! Things like where our rugs are from, what I put in my coffee, and is a Vitamix really worth it. I honestly love engaging and chatting with you all, and I appreciate all of the questions that come in! If you think of any other questions for me, feel free to leave a comment here or on instagram, and I will update this FAQs post! So many of these are coffee questions. Clearly I have a deep love for my morning cups of joe!
Where is your living room rug from?
Where is your master bedroom rug from?
Here is a picture of it on our floor. I have really loved it, and it was another affordable option. (If you haven’t realized yet, I am almost always a budget shopper!)
blouse | green pants | shoes | straw bag
I wasn’t able to find my pants, but they are Old Navy. I found a similar pair from Gap. And the shoes are the same, just a slightly different color. Still nude, though. My straw bag is sold out, but I found a very similar one, that is an even better price!
(Can you tell I’m not a fashion blogger?!)
What types of pans do you cook with?
I currently use one I found from Sur la Table. The brand is ScanPan, and I have the largest one. The exact one is below. I use it multiple times a day, and it has held up SO well! I also use transfer it from the stove to the oven for certain dishes. I would buy this brand again. *Tip for nonstick pans: Do not use any cooking spray. If you need a fat, use a pure source, such as olive oil, coconut oil, or butter. I would like to have two more medium-size pans. My current ones are falling apart. Here are some options I am considering. These all have great reviews (I read several articles), and are more budget-friendly.
- This set is very affordable and has great reviews. 1 8-inch and 1 10-inch. They also have a set that is a little larger. I don’t know if you’d be able to flip an egg (without a spatula) because the sides are a little higher, but this would also prevent spilling.
- This one is a professional grade, and it may be the next one I buy. It also scored really well in a few articles I read.
I also love using my cast iron skillet. And I have a set of stainless pans that we have had since we got married. I would love a couple new ones, and could probably use a new griddle as well.
Is a Vitamix really worth it? Which model do you have?
100% yes! This is another piece of equipment we use almost daily, sometimes multiple times a day. It will blend anything, and makes the best smoothies. We used to have a Ninja or bullet, or some other brand, but those honestly do not compare. I would buy another one in a heartbeat. I also love that it is red! (It also comes in black). It is much cheaper than the brand new ones, yet works just as well.
What type of espresso machine do you have?
This gift from Todd was such a Mother’s Day winner, I am telling you! It is a mini Nespresso, so it doesn’t take up much room. It comes with a milk frother, too! I still use a regular coffee pot in the mornings, but this Nespresso is so great for that afternoon slump! And it is a hundred times better than Starbucks. This will quickly pay for itself if you are a Starbucks-every-day type of person. 😉
What do you put in your coffee?
I get this question almost daily. I love love love my coffee. The reason I am able to wake up so early is because I know the coffee pot is waiting for me. Todd prepares the coffee most nights, so all I have to do is push the button in the morning, and it’s ready to go! He is really sounding like a saint right now, isn’t he? 🙂 I very rarely eat dairy, so I use a dairy-free creamer. My favorite are NutPods, because they are super clean, froth really well, and add a creaminess to your coffee that plan almond milk just doesn’t. My favorite flavor is french vanilla, and I always buy them on Amazon. The coconut creamer from Trader Joe’s is a good, inexpensive, creamy backup if you need something in a pinch. Todd and I also use Vital Proteins collagen peptides in our coffee, and it fills me up until it’s time to eat breakfast. I noticed a big difference in how my hair grew back after postpartum hair loss last year. I also use these as protein powder in my green smoothies.
What type of coffee pot do you have?
We have this Mr. Coffee maker. The best part about it is how quickly it brews a pot of coffee! I’m not sure if it requires an extra scoop of coffee, or if Todd and I just like ours a little more bold, but we do add just a bit extra in the filter.
Where is your white bathing suit from?
I have tried so hard to find this exact suit! It was a Marshall’s find, and I just love it. It is conservative, is thick enough, covers my bum, and I feel good wearing it. It is Michael Kors, but I got it for a steal! I have found a few similar ones if you are interested. I’m so sorry I couldn’t find the exact one! white ruffle bathing suits: one | two | three | four | five | six
Where are those light blue and gray tanks from?
These are honest-to-goodness my current favorite wardrobe pieces. I am obsessed with these tie-back tanks from J.Crew. They look super cute with my high-waisted workout pants, or a pair of white jeans.
Where do you buy your jumpsuits?
I feel bad saying this, because I don’t have an exact source, but most of my jumpsuits are from Marshall’s. I just check most times I shop there, and sometimes they have some winners! I also found this really cute denim one from Lulu’s. I did have it altered, because it was a little long (I’m 5’5″), but I love it. And it’s one of those outfits that you just feel confident wearing. Also, if y’all don’t already shop on Asos, you should try it! I love ordering from there, because they have free (and easy) return shipping. I just glanced, and they have a bunch of jumpsuit options.
What do you buy at Costco? What do you buy at Trader Joe’s?
I have an old post about what I buy from Trader Joe’s, but some of those items are still on my regular grocery rotation. I need to write brand new posts about these subjects, because grocery shopping is one of my favorite things to do, as sad does that is. If you go to my instagram profile, I have a story highlight called “Grocery Hauls” that shows my most recent Costco and Trader Joe’s purchases. I will continue to add to that as well.
What kind of running shoes do you wear?
For a couple of years, I wore Nikes, and though I still love them, they are not a great running shoe. I visited a local store that specializes in athletic footwear and had someone help me decide which kind fit my foot the best. I am obsessed with these New Balance 1080s! I wear them all the time, and they are great for running!
Will this recipe be on your blog?
I am going to do my best to post more recipes on my blog. We have organized a few hours of regular childcare for both of my boys this summer, and my goal is to post more regularly here. But when people DM me and ask for recipes, I do my best to send them the details!
I hope this post was helpful! Thanks so much for sticking with me, you guys!
