As our summer comes to a close, I wanted to share some of the highlights from the past few months. Davis started kindergarten this past week, and Ridge will go to preschool starting after Labor Day. Our summer days were crazy with both of them home, but I am thankful for the slower schedule and extra family time. Because I have not shared much on here, I thought I would try and catch up a bit.
Davis finished his soccer season and swim lessons. Todd was able to coach the last bit of the season after he recovered from surgeries.
We spent a day at the lake with our cousins.
I had a few nights out for food tastings.
We spent time at the pool with our friends.
We played outside, went for bike rides, ran through the sprinkler, took Kenan for walks, and tried to dodge the mosquitoes.
I catered a birthday party.
I learned to love hot yoga. And Todd and I did a lot of driveway workouts (they’re all in an instagram highlight, and I gave lots of details in my last post).
I was on the news a couple more times.
We bought local peaches, veggies, and ice cream.
I took the boys to the zoo and to visit my grandparents.
We took the boys to see Paw Patrol Live.
We went to Grammy and Granddaddy’s neighborhood pool, and the boys rode on the golf cart as much as possible.
Davis went to golf camp.
Grandma and Grandpa came to visit. We had s’mores and shot off fireworks in our back yard.
My dad and Todd’s dad both spent time in the hospital. Thankfully they both recovered well. But let’s just say that our families are “over” having people we love in the hospital. Too much of that this year.
We had family over for meals.
I took the boys to the beach over July 4th to spend time with lots of family.
We went to Anne Springs Close Greenway for an adventure on the trails. Ridge got to see lots of his favorite animal! Davis wore all camo (his favorite).
My parents kept the boys so that Todd and I could attend an engagement party in Raleigh.
We celebrated Kenan’s 10th birthday.
We had our family beach week in Surf City (Topsail Island) with my parents! Then my brother and his girlfriend came down for the last few days. It’s always one of the best weeks of the year. This time some of our friends were down there, so we had extra fun!
I took the boys up to visit my bestie, Casey. She brings her kids to NC every summer for a couple of months. They live in France, so this is their time to visit family. We always love getting to see them!
We celebrated Todd’s birthday with our supper club group and a night at the Duke Mansion here in Charlotte!
Then we got Davis ready for kindergarten and had lots of back to school events! Cannot believe the time has come for him to be in school. We are on day 3, and so far, so good.
It was a sweet summer, and I’m so thankful for all of the memories made!
