We recently moved into a new home, and though moving is not for the faint of heart, it has been a very positive transition. Much excitement exists around this new home, and we are adjusting to a new rhythm. I wanted to share a bit more of why we decided to move, say goodbye to our old house with some favorite memories, and share a little bit of our new house! We are settling into a new home, and I am partnering with Paperless Post to share our new location with friends and family. It was fun to pick out a “we’ve moved!” card to email with our updated address.
This post is sponsored by Paperless Post. They kindly gave us the “we’ved moved!” cards.
It is difficult to take a pretty photo of a computer screen, but I was so happy with how these turned out! Definitely our style with all of the blue and white.
Goodbye to a Beautiful Home Full of Memories
We truly loved the house we moved from, but the location was no longer working. I was in the car all morning long, and our new home is also more convenient for Todd. We needed a true office space for him, and we also wanted closer neighbors. The memories made there are priceless, though, and we are incredibly grateful for our time in that home. We will certainly miss the front porch, the land, the friends we made, and the long driveway! We remodeled the kitchen with the help of Fine Grit, and I was sad to leave it. It was certainly my favorite room! In that home we hosted plenty of baby showers, Superbowl parties, dinner parties, and Todd’s work Christmas party.
One of my absolute favorite memories in that house was when I found out we were pregnant with Ridge. We had decided to stop fertility treatments 6 months prior, and were well into the adoption process. It was Valentine’s weekend, and we had plans to go to Chapel Hill, while Davis stayed with Todd’s parents. On the way to the grandparents’ we realized Davis was sick, so we ended up canceling our Chapel Hill plans and staying the night with Todd’s parents.
When we got back to Charlotte it was Valentine’s Day. I was late, but thought nothing of it, because getting pregnant for us had always been a struggle. Just to be sure, I went in our bathroom and took a pregnancy test. I remember it so vividly. It was positive! Todd was in the process of walking Davis upstairs and I yelled to him and ran around the corner to tell him the news! That is etched in my mind, and I will never be able to think of that staircase without remembering that joyful moment.
We will miss that home, but thankfully we can take the memories with us!
Sharing the News!
Here is the card that we picked to send to our family and friends to share the news. Paperless Post had plenty of beautiful options, but I felt like this one represents our style well. We have blue and white decor throughout our home, and I like how simple and classic this one is. My second favorite was this “Location, Location, Location” one! So fun. I have used Paperless Post for party invitations in the past, and the process was just as easy to send out these new address cards. In the moving process, the to-do lists are endless, so having something easy like this was such a relief.
This literally takes just a few minutes to personalize, then you can easily import email addresses, and hit send!
(I blurred out our address, but that is right below our names).
Saying Hello to Our New Home
Though we still have plenty of boxes to unpack, closets to organize, and furniture to buy, we do feel like this is home! Having a pool and a basement and a shorter commute honestly feels like we hit the jackpot. This picture is from the first morning we woke up in our new house. We felt at home quickly, and are loving the short commute to school and less traffic to fight each morning. I haven’t taken many other photos inside our new house, but I do love these of my boys enjoying the outdoor amenities. As we get settled and work on decorating the rooms, I will share more photos of the new house.
Without my husband working so hard and stewarding our money well, we would not have been able to do this. I just have to give him some credit, because he leads us so well!
Our realtor and her team were extremely helpful through the whole process of buying and selling. Charlotte friends, I cannot recommend Kim enough!
