Five on Friday

August 2, 2013

I love lists.  I especially love blog posts done in list form!  So, I’m joining with other bloggers for the Five on Friday link-up hosted by A. Liz Adventures, The Good Life blog, Hello! Happiness, and Carolina Charm.

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

Here are 5 things on my mind heading into the weekend! TGIF.

ONE: Davis turned 8 months old yesterday.  How did this happen?!?  He is growing and changing every day, and certainly developing more of a personality.  We are smitten.  Last night after his bath I brushed his hair and he loved it.  It is getting longer and more blonde.  He’s such a cutie.

TWO: Lots of baking, as usual. I don’t have any baking jobs this weekend, but I will be baking for friends, a baby shower, and church!  Here’s what’s on the recipe list:

Key Lime Pie: I am not making it exactly like this recipe, but it is the base.  I’ll post about how we like it and the changes I made!

S’mores Macrons: Can’t wait to try these!  I’ve made plenty of macarons, but never this flavor.

Peach Vanilla Bundt Cake: Southern summer in cake form.  Delish.

Cinnamon Sugar Donut Muffins: Y’all.  These are so so good.  I’ve made them a few times for breakfasts for church, and they are a hit.  Excited to bring them back!

THREE: I’m already feeling inspired by pictures of Fall outfits.  I’m not quite ready for cold weather – not that it matters because it will be hot here until October – but I am at least planning.  Here’s a collage I saw on a blog and pinned it.  It is all of the colors and looks I love for Fall:

FOUR: Speaking of Fall clothes…These shoes from Aldo.  Yes, I’m a little behind on buying ankle boots.  I have some that are wedges, but these are classic, and would be perfect with so many outfits.

FIVE: Skincare success!  I’ve been wanting the Clarisonic cleansing system/brush, but I haven’t wanted to pay for it.  Last week I had an Ulta 20% off coupon, and when I was filling up my online cart, I noticed the Ulta version.  And, not only was it only $25, it was buy one get one free on Ulta skincare!  So, I read reviews on it, and they were great.  The box of my many cosmetics (Isn’t it sad how many things it takes us to look pretty as we get older? Geez!) arrived yesterday.  I tried it last night and I love it!  I’m thinking it may be a new addiction.

Hi – I’m dropping by from the linkup! Your son is too cute! And you’re right, those donut muffins are so tasty. I have the Olay version of the clarisonic and love it! Good to know the less expensive options work well!

Found you through 5 on Friday! I was literally just talking to a co-worker about wanting ankle booties for fall, maybe a wedge heel. The Aldo ones are too cute!

You should try baking macarons! Hopefully it won’t take you as many tries to get them right as it did for me. It was fun trying, though. I read lots of tips online and in books before I got them right.
I’d love to get the Clarisonic eventually, but for now I’m happy with the Ulta version! I was surprised at how well it worked for the price.
I’ll check out your blog – thank you for visiting mine!!
