TGIF, that’s for sure! It’s been one heck of a week, especially for my husband. His car window was broken while he was working at a hospital, and several important/valuable items were stolen. We know that it could’ve been worse, though. We also know that the items are just “things.” Cars can be fixed and laptops can be replaced. I’m so thankful for a positive husband who knows the truth in that (see #5 below). I would’ve been a total wreck, and he seemed cool and collected through hours on the phone with credit card companies, his IT department at work, the police, and hours sitting at the DMV.
Long story short, I’m hoping to make this weekend more cheery for him than this week has been!! On to my FIVE. I am loving linking up with April, Darci, Natasha, and Christina. Thank you for hosting this, ladies!
ONE: I need to start planning Davis’ first birthday party. (And I can’t even believe he is almost one. Hoping the party planning will distract me so I don’t shed too many tears!) His birthday is December 1st, but we’re planning to have the party the weekend before, so it will not interfere with Thanksgiving. It will be cool out, so it will be mostly indoors, but I’m thinking a camping theme: teepees, s’mores, plaid blankets, a fake fire, and maybe some cute woodland creatures. Here’s some inspiration.
TWO: I keep saying I’m going to sign up for this half marathon. That is one of my goals this weekend. If I don’t sign up, I won’t train. If I don’t train, I’ll stay in the same shape. That’s not okay. Please feel free to hold me accountable!
THREE: I’m making a mini version of this Mickey cake this weekend. I made this cake for my niece’s 2nd birthday, and I’m excited to make it again for a smash cake!
FOUR: This canvas duffel bag needs to make it’s way into our home. Navy, white, and leather, yes please. I would love it for myself, or for Davis, or both. For Davis, I would do a block style monogram.
FIVE: Yes. Good reminder.
