My dad recently retired, after having worked for the same company for 34 years! To celebrate, my parents threw a party. They hosted friends from my dad’s job, some who even flew in from around the country. There were also family members who came, and some of their other closest friends and neighbors. It was a beautiful night, and my mom did a fabulous job with all of the details. I helped a little with the food, but I wanted to share the retirement party details.
She used Fall-inspired elements for the decor, with accents of navy and gold. These gold candle-holders are wine bottles that she spray-painted. These were originally used a couple of years ago for my 30th birthday party (which I am still obsessed with!).
The menu was heavy hors d’oeuvres, along with a couple of cheese and charcuterie trays around the room. In typical fashion for us, we had more than enough food!
I have a recipe for how I did the beef tenderloin – coming soon!
Todd, the boys and I only managed to stay for the beginning of the party, but we heard that the rest of the guests stayed and enjoyed it! I’m so happy for my dad and this next phase of their life!
