Fall Fashion: The Baseball Tee

September 16, 2014

UPDATE: This is still my most popular post, by far.  Because it is still checked frequently, I wanted to give current sources for similar clothing.  Some of the pieces of the outfit (with the green baseball tee and plaid scarf) are no longer available, but I have linked to very similar options!  Thank you for reading!!

I am all about comfortable, casual clothing for everyday wear.  Fancy just doesn’t work with my lifestyle (although dressing up for occasional date nights is fun!).  In my opinion, a baseball tee is a must for transitional weather.  I love the casual sporty look, so this type of shirt is perfect for that!  I wanted to share 2 ways to style these tops, along with some inspiration from Pinterest.   Oh, and a super cute toddler sporting the baseball tee as well!

Baseball tops work well with shorts or jeans, especially boyfriend jeans or anything distressed.

For shoes you can do ankle boots, leopard flats, Toms, Converses, these Nikes from J.Crew, or sneakers like these from H&M.

I always wear a big watch and bracelets like I posted about in this Fall Fashion post.  I think longer, dainty necklaces work well with t-shirts.  Throw a scarf on if it’s chilly in the morning and night but warm during the day.

Here are my picks from my closet:

UPDATED SOURCES: Plaid Scarf 1 | Plaid Scarf 2 | Baseball Tee 1 | Baseball Tee 2 | Baseball Tee 3 | Boyfriend Jeans | Tassel Necklace | Booties 1 | Booties 2 | Booties 3 | Watch | David Yurman Bracelet | John Hardy Bracelet

Former Sources: Hunter Green & White Tee Asos // Black and Gray Tee H&M (old) // Jeans Gap // Shorts Old Navy // Cordone Sneakers Toms (old) // Ankle Boots (on sale!) Aldo // Plaid Blanket Scarf Zara (old, sold out) // Tassel Necklace H&M (old) // Chevron Necklace Lulu’s

Asos has plenty of other baseball tee options as well.

My inspiration from Pinterest:

My obsession with these shirts shows itself in my son’s wardrobe as well as mine.  His shirt is from Old Navy.  Taking an outfit picture of a very active little boy is nearly impossible.

The black one was from H&M last year, and the green and white shirt was from Asos. I’m pretty sure Asos still has it in stock, at least in other colors if not in the green.

I love those Aldo booties…Are they comfortable? I’m also such a fan of Gap jeans. I bought a pair of boyfriend jeans this season and wear them all the time. Great price too! 🙂

The Aldo booties are comfortable! My feet have never hurt from wearing them. Glad you like the Gap jeans, too! Certainly beats paying designer prices. 🙂

Hi Tori, I apologize for the delayed response! I tried the link and it worked for me – I’m sorry it didn’t for you! They are from Aldo, and they are called the Josseline boot, color is taupe. Hope that helps!

i fell in love with your Aldo booties! i am not sure why or if they change the color but i ordered the taupe color one thinking it will come the same as your picture and their picture on the website but it actually came as a forest green olive color… so sad! i mean its still really nice i just wish they would advertise it the correct color. I’m glad you got the right color! do you know when you bought these? i also read other peoples review on the website and notice they also did not get the taupe color… BTW love your post!

Hi Nancy. Thank you for reading my blog! I’m sorry to hear about the color of your boots! I bought mine in the store last winter, but they are definitely taupe. Did you contact customer service?

      Hi Jennifer,
It was from the Juniors section at Nordstrom. It was sold last year, though, so they may not have the exact one in stock now. I’m sure they may have something similar!

Mine is from Zara, but they no longer carry that scarf. Heart and Home Collection has one that is almost identical!

Love your style! I was wondering if you could help me with a sizing question for asos? If I’m a US small, what UK size would I order. So confusing. And do you think GAP jeans run true to size? Thanks!!

Hi Jennifer, thank you! That’s sweet! My best guess would be to get a 6 or an 8 UK size. I believe that a 4 U.S. From Asos is an 8 UK size. In most stores here I buy an XS or S in shirts (0 or 2) but I typically buy a 2 from Asos. For Gap, from my experience they are mostly true to size, maybe running a bit small. When I bought mine last year, I got a 25 in the Always Skinny jeans, but they are quite snug. (I think the sizes are different now so I think that would be a 0). I have the straight distressed jeans in a 26 and I like the way they fit, but some people prefer to go 1 size up. I hope that helps!

I love, love, love the baseball tee outfit with the Zara Scarf and Aldo boots!!! After going to the Aldo site many people who have ordered them have said they are a greenish color?!? Which color did you get? I would imagine the taupe – but that is the one they said looks green/olive.

Thank you so much!! Happy Thanksgiving!! ???

    Regards,

    Erin

Hi Erin, I’m not sure what happened, but apparently Aldo changed the taupe color. Mine are a light tan/khaki color, not olive green. I’m sorry about the color issue! I do think olive green would be a great neutral, though. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Hi Stacy! My shoes were from Aldo 2 years ago, and, unless they’ve just added them back, they no longer sell them. 🙁 And the scarf was originally from Zara but there are lots of copycat scarves similar to that. I quickly googled “Zara plaid blanket scarf” and here is one that I found: https://www.etsy.com/shop/myfashioncreations?ref=s2-header-shopname

      I hope this helps!
