Island Trip

It’s been just over a week since we returned from a trip to the Dominican Republic with some of our best friends.  They’re also our business partners with The Honor Roll (well technically it is Todd and Ryan’s business, but Ashley and I enjoy the perks ;)).  The four of us dreamt up this t-shirt business a few years ago, and it’s really awesome that it actually happened.  It is very much a side business, but Ashley and I are still super proud of our husbands! Ryan and Todd are a great match of creative-minded and business-oriented.  Can’t wait to see how it grows in the future!  Okay, back to the trip…

We stayed at an all-inclusive resort on an island off of Samana.  The extra long weekend was full of relaxation, tropical drinks, gorgeous beaches, tons of laughs, fun dinners, being loud Americans, trying out our new GoPro, snorkeling, learning to salsa on the beach, an embarrassing couples game (think cruise ship), ridiculous synchronized swimming routines, kayaking, dancing, and just an overall amazing getaway! To be real, it was honestly nice to go away and be an adult for a few days.  I love being at home with Davis, don’t get me wrong.  It’s just I occasionally feel wrapped up in toddler-land, and it’s nice to have adult conversations.  I was thrilled to get home to him, though!

I packed way too much!  Next time we go on a trip like this, I will only pack bathing suits with cover-ups, outfits for dinners, and something to wear on the plane.
