The weekend is here, and I am finally posting my Friday Favorites again! We are leaving for Savannah later today for a family wedding. It will be a quick trip, but if anyone has any recommendations for food or places to see (with a little one), please send them my way!
I am happy to be linking up with the Friday hostesses: April, Christina, Natasha; Karli; Erika, Andrea, Narci; and Tif
ONE: Something that I have been stuck on for our nursery is finding a mobile for over the crib. We had a sports themed one for Davis’ room, but I wanted something a little more artistic and modern this time. I found one on Pinterest that I loved, but it was homemade, and I’m trying to stay away from too many DIY projects at the moment. Also, I would not trust myself to make something that would be hanging over my baby all night! I like all of the ones below, and they are mostly from etsy, and generally all very affordable!
antique brass circle mobile | colorful geometric mobile | wooden bear mobile | wooden feather mobile | wooden hexagon mobile | driftwood and felt ball mobile | hot air balloon mobile | blue felt ball mobile | modern navy and gold geometric mobile
This has nothing to do with a crib mobile, but, I came across this adorable custom wooden name sign while perusing Etsy. Placing this on a bookshelf in a nursery or kids’ room would add such a sweet, personal touch. Such a great gift idea, too!
TWO: Speaking of nurseries, I posted this collage with all of the details of the room in this post recently. If you all have thoughts on the best mobile to go with this look, I would love your opinions! This room is slowly coming together, but we’ve got a few projects left to complete. I’m positive that the boys’ rooms will easily be my favorites in the house. Once they are complete I will definitely show photos!
The sign is my favorite part.
THREE: Wednesday was Todd’s birthday, and he and I were able to go on a date! We ate dinner at Bakersfield on East Blvd, then I took him to Sycamore Brewing for a quick beer flight. Both places were new to us, and we enjoyed them! I have been craving the tacos ever since. We will certainly go back there soon – and then we’ll go again when I can enjoy a margarita. 🙂
FOUR: If you’re in Charlotte, I recommend visiting the Charlotte Regional Farmer’s Market tomorrow! This picture shows some of the flowers I saw there last week. There are a few flower vendors with the most gorgeous florals. They will put together a custom bouquet for you, that start at $10. And they are serious eye candy.
FIVE: My blogging friend, Megan Flynn Peterson of The Freckled Italian, is releasing her first cookbook! I received an advance copy, and I can tell you that this book is one you’ll want to have in your kitchen. The recipes are paleo, but not intimidating or complicated. The ingredients and instructions are straightforward, but healthy – AND delicious. I made a couple of her recipes, pictured below, and I will have those posted later this weekend. Right now The Big 15 Paleo Cookbook is available for pre-order and it is discounted!
She included a paleo BBQ sauce in her book, which I used to barbecue chicken. I added some grilled pineapple for sweetness. The Kale Salad with Bacon, Apples, and Pecans was amazing!
In case you missed it… even though I’ve been missing the Friday link-ups, I have posted some recipes recently:
Chocolate Chip Cookie Chocolate Birthday Cake
Rosemary Lemon Roasted Chicken
Spiralized Shoestring Sweet Potato Fries
Have a fabulous weekend!

I’ve been craving the food from our date night ever since!!
Allison says
All your food pics have me craving lunch before 9am! And I love those custom flower bouquets!
Lindsay says
Haha, Allison! I basically think about food 24/7 – it’s bad. The flowers are gorgeous, right? I may go back next weekend to buy some more. Give me food and flowers and I am a happy girl. 😉

Stopping by from the linkup. Those tacos and guac look delicious! I wish we had more Mexican restaurants where I live!
Lindsay says
Thank you for commenting, Meghan! I could seriously live off of chips and salsa, etc. I’m sorry you don’t have many restaurants around! Do you enjoy cooking? Mexican food is my favorite thing to cook, and I have some recipes on my blog if you’re interested!

I love the bear mobile idea to go with your nursery theme! So cute and rustic 🙂
Lindsay says
Thank you, Jessica! That seems to be the popular vote…I may have to choose that one!

Savanna is easily one my favorite cities I have ever visited. Honestly the best thing you can do is bring a stroller and walk their beautiful squares. Much better than any “attraction” you could see. There is also a great little market by the river, and the Pink House is a fabulous meal! I hope you have a great trip! Ps. That sweet mobile with the bears is my fav for that room design… so sweet!
Lindsay says
Thank you, Jillian! We did just walk around for the most part – it was really nice – just hot!! We did not have a night to go eat a nice dinner because of the rehearsal dinner and wedding, but we did enjoy lunch at a local hot spot. I want to go back and try the Pink House some time, though.

You’re welcome! You have a lovely product. And the bear mobile seemed really popular! 🙂 Really?! Todd’s are pretty great, huh?
